What is Small Business Saturday? Small Business Saturday is a dedicated day centered around supporting the local, small businesses by driving sales on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. The day drives advocacy of small business, helps create jobs, boost local economies and preserves the foundation of neighborhoods across the nation.

When is Small Business Saturday? Small Business Saturday 2012 takes place Saturday, Nov. 24. Coming just after Black Friday, Small Business Saturday is the perfect opportunity to support local economies and give back to the communities that surround them.

What does Small Business Saturday do for small businesses? Small businesses can receive marketing materials, including web banners and email templates; suggestions for Facebook and Twitter posts; and free Facebook advertising (offer conditions may apply).

When did Small Business Saturday start? Small Business Saturday was founded by American Express in 2010.

What happened last year? Small Business Saturday saw massive growth last year with more than 100 million Americans shopping at independently owned businesses. [1] The day also received the support of more than 230 small business advocate groups and more than 2.7 million Facebook users. [2]

Who sponsors Small Business Saturday? Small Business Saturday is supported by a number of advocacy groups, public officials and corporate sponsors, including companies like Iron Mountain.

How do big businesses support Small Business Saturday? Approximately 75 corporations officially supported Small Business Saturday in 2011, and their encouragement helped spread the word about the day and get consumers interested and educated.
