MBA Students Finish First in Venture Capital Investment Competition ...

On Friday, February 24, 2012, a team of Georgetown McDonough MBAs won the 15th annual Mid-Atlantic Regional Venture Capital Investment Competition held at the Wharton School of Business. According the venture capitalist judging panel, the Georgetown McDonough team did the best job analyzing business plans, conducting due diligence with entrepreneurs, structuring a term sheet, and negotiating a deal. Other schools competing at the event included the University of Virginia, Carnegie Mellon, Harvard, MIT, and the University of Maryland.

The team comprised MBA students John Graham, Timothy Reardon, Chaitanya Gopineedi, Luke Mara, and Andrew Rucker. As winners, the team receives a $1,500 prize and a spot at the International VCIC Finals in Chapel Hill, N.C., in April. The Venture Capital Investment Competition tests students? ability to evaluate entrepreneurial businesses and negotiate investment terms.
